Eid-al-Adha Celebration – A Day of Joy and Community

On Friday, 6th June, BIC hosted a joyful Eid-al-Adha celebration at Markfield Institute of Higher Education. The event brought families and friends together for a day filled with prayer, fun, and gratitude.

After gathering for the morning Eid prayers, people started arriving at the hall around 1:00 PM. As the children enjoyed the bouncy castle, the sisters beautifully decorated the hall with festive Eid-themed adornments, while the brothers preparing lunch.

After Jumu’ah prayer, everyone returned to enjoy a delicious Sri Lankan meal with ghee rice, delicious spread of curries, and meats, lovingly prepared by a dedicated volunteer team.

The afternoon was packed with games and activities for all ages—like musical chairs, pass the parcel, and straw picking. Meanwhile, the brothers enjoyed a round of team building games, football, and cricket on the open grounds. Later in the day, a fun Kahoot quiz brought everyone together in the main hall, and we celebrated students who completed the Arabic course with certificates.

Later in the evening, the sisters presented a beautifully decorated sweets table filled with cakes, cupcakes, traditional Sri Lankan treats, and savoury snacks for evening tea.

The event ended at 10 PM, with smiles all around and hearts full of joy.

A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers—especially Brother Nizam and Sister Safreena and their teams—for making this day truly special.
We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and hope to see you at our next event, insha’Allah!
