On Sunday 26th July, BIC families came together for a wonderful summer barbecue at the beautiful Rutland Water, enjoying a day away from the usual routines and surrounded by the reservoir’s peaceful scenery. Families arrived around midday and settled into a quiet spot, ready for an afternoon of good food, activities and quality time together.
Following Dhuhr prayer, preparations began for the barbecue, with everyone contributing to get lunch ready. The grills were soon fired up and a delicious selection of food was prepared, including chicken wings, burgers, lamb chops, ribs, steaks, sausages and corn on the cob, accompanied by salads and refreshing drinks. Families gathered together to enjoy the meal in the summer sunshine and relaxed atmosphere.
After lunch, there was plenty to keep everyone entertained. The children enjoyed spending time near the water, while the sisters took the opportunity to walk along the scenic reservoir trails. Meanwhile, the brothers organised friendly games of football and cricket on the nearby fields, adding some friendly competition and plenty of laughter to the afternoon.
As the day began to wind down, everyone gathered once again for hot tea, enjoying the final moments of the evening together before packing up and heading home.
Alhamdulillah, it was another enjoyable and memorable BIC family day out, providing an opportunity for families of all ages to strengthen friendships, spend quality time together and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors.
