The BIC organised a charity food stall with Rabia and Rishadha Team to support and donate for Gaza, after the blessed days of Ramadan and Eid last Sunday 14 April. Its a remembering day of our beloved brothers and sisters in Gaza as BIC brought the community together for the awareness and support our struggling brothers and sisters in genocidal war.
The Shop sold various traditional food varieties like Levariya, Isso Vada, Mayoka etc. The unique feature of the store has been freshely made food cooked and served instore, Pol Rotti with Katta Sambal and steam Spicy Chickpeas were among the Star seller. Freshly made milky hot tea has been served at the store.
Children also participated and they had a store selling desserts, savouries and sweets.
Many has been attended to this amazing cause, contributed and enjoyed the traditional Sri Lankan food.
Some of the customers were long waited in the que. One delighted customer commented “Its an amaizing oppertunity to miss such foods, that we cannot have these food regularly. I don’t want to missed it, as if I could, I would be buying all of them”. Another commented, “The pol rotti with kata sambol, it is so tasty. I cannot resist, will definetly get more for my breakfast tomorrow”.
Another customer in the que commented, “I had my lunch, still I am feeling hungry after smelling the treational fresh food, I don’t mind my dieting today”. The Shop offered every one something special.
“It was a very successful day” said by the Chairty Organisers, in the further comment they have expressed their gratitude to everyone joined and made this event a success. And they very much exicted to get help from young children. Wafa Mohamed, Halah Mazoomy, Ridah Mohamed, Humaidha Ziya, Rafa Riyaz, and Sahala Muhammad, contributed their efforts, and fully participated in the whole event.
The Charity Shop has generated £818.18 and the children shop generated £192.60, and complete donation has been raised to the sum of £1010.78.
